Publication Legal Notices Necessary Four Times Only.

OPINION

We have your letter in which you ask our opinion as to whether it is necessary to insert a legal notice in five issues of a newspaper in order to constitute a four weeks' publication.

In view of the decisions of our Supreme Court we advise you that it is necessary in such notices to insert the publication once a week for four weeks only. Such is the holding of the court in DeWitz vs. Joyce Pruit Co., 20 N.M. 572; also in a very recent decision of the Supreme Court, not yet reported, styled De Graftenreid vs. Casaus. I am not sure, but I am under the impression that the court covered this point in Maxwell vs. Page, reported in 23 N.M.

You are being directed to the most recent version of the statute which may not be the version considered at the time of the judgment.
