April 14, 1930

BY: M. A. OTERO, JR., Attorney General

TO: Mr. C. L. Bowe, Endee, New Mexico.

SCHOOLS -- No property qualification for voting on bonds.

OPINION

This will acknowledge receipt of yours of the 11th inst. in which you ask to be advised as to whether one who would be a legal voter otherwise but is not a possessor of real estate would be a qualified voter in an election held for the purpose of voting bonds in a rural school district.

You are advised that no property qualification is required for voting upon a question of the issuing of school bonds. Any one man or woman who possesses the legal qualifications for voting in a general election is qualified to vote on such question.

You are being directed to the most recent version of the statute which may not be the version considered at the time of the judgment.
