Opinion No. 45-4652

February 9, 1945

BY: C. C. McCULLOH, Attorney General

TO: Mr. David W. Carmody District Attorney Santa Fe, New Mexico

{*17} You have requested an opinion of this office concerning whether registration is required for persons voting in a city school election. This is to advise you we have carefully examined the statutes and find there is no requirement for registration in order to vote in such election.

Of course, all persons offering to vote must be legal residents of the city wherein they offer to vote and cannot be legal residents of any other portion of the State.

By HARRY L. BIGBEE,

Asst. Atty. General

You are being directed to the most recent version of the statute which may not be the version considered at the time of the judgment.
