TO: Mr. John L. Moore, Columbus, New Mexico.

Questions of Residence in Connection with Right of Suffrage.

OPINION

In reply to your letter of February 21st, advise that soldiers who have actually maintained their residences within the State of New Mexico, claiming this as their home for the period of one year next preceding the election, ninety days within the county, and thirty days within the precinct where they offer to vote, are entitled to vote; but mere transient persons or soldiers who have been located at such army camp temporarily are not entitled to vote, and the above applies only to actual bona fide residents of Columbus.

You are being directed to the most recent version of the statute which may not be the version considered at the time of the judgment.
